Once a day

I think I just had a PaD worthy idea. As part of my PaD do a series of Once a day things (like doing the Pad). Or saying it another way, things that I do once a day. Like check the mail. Humm I will have to add this to the idea bank for when ideas run more dry than they already have.

Hummm rainy day ideas, hummmm.

Well that idea above has nothing to do with why I took this image. I was more interested in the red flag that was up with the nice golden sun in the background. I used a little too much fill flas and created a harsh shadow under the mailboxes and I think that I probably forgot to change to sunlight white balance.

There is another question. When is the right time to switch your white balance presets? Like this example my primary light is the sun but I used fill flash? So is it right to keep it on sunlight (daylight) or should I have switched to the flash white balance preset?

Oh so much to learn!

If the sun is the main light, set the white balance for sunlight. If you're shooting with RAW format, it doesn't matter where the white balance is set as you can change it in processing the images prior to converting to TIFF and / or JPG.
