Hi Robert. I think 1964 was my ooming out year. That summer I spent pretty well every day I could in the baths. The girls were a challenge!. Also that year we had the birth of Pirate Radio, and everyone was busting to know what the new Beatles record was going to sound like. Magic days, and unreplaceable!

Hi Graham you are a year older than me and I remember spending hours at this pool, it was the main place where we all met up. I managed to dive off the top board just once, but could jump from the second board down onto the first springboard and bounce up diving Into the pool (no health and safety around then) it cost about four pence to stay in there all day or you could buy a season ticket for just 15 shillings. I moved away to Wales in the mid seventies but still have wonderful memories growing up in Sheerness.

And now, in ascending order of bravery, bottom, middle, top. I wonder if that is how life sorted them out? I don't think so, because I only ever made the bottom board once. Yet I have had one of the most adventurous lives you could think of. Age 65, currently sitting in a bar in Hong Kong browsing through this wonderful site one more time. Footbath to dressing rooms on bottom left. I remember this pool so well.
