Delicate Arch Viewpoint is a popular venue for observing Delicate Arch. The viewpoint is at the precipice of a huge amphitheater that separates the viewpoint from the arch. Delicate Arch sits on a ridge on the far side of the amphitheater. The half-mile uphill hike to the viewpoint is a lot less work that the 1.5-mile uphill hike to the arch itself.

The viewpoint sits near the low end of a tilted ridge. The flat ridge makes for easy walking and in the interest of exploration, I walked up to the high end, from which I had great views. That exploration led to a desire to explore more terrain in that area.
