Resting at the high point of this part of the exploration

Lunch tasted good here, which partially made up for the
disappointment of not finding a scrambling route to the top.

Joe Tripod, who makes pictures such as this one possible by providing reliable, rock-steady support,
was---as usual---not in any mood to grieve with me. He concentrated on the task at hand.

A truly awesome photo, Dave. V.

I disavow any knowledge of the use of a huge aircraft assembly building in Renton to stage a faked landing on the Moon. Rumor has it that the landing was filmed at Notner International Flim Flam Film Studios, whose motto is "Don't ask; don't tell."

As for the slanderous remarks about me based on the presence of sunglasses and red rocks, I will withhold comment until I've had a chance to eat a Mars bar.

Joe Tripod's appetite is for opportunities to support my efforts at documentation. He does not go hungry.

The story that the moon landing was filmed in Tulsa is just one of those laughable made up tales. It was actually filmed in downtown Renton at noon to make sure the place was empty. Alternatively I have heard it was somewhere in Florida but after 8PM when all the inhabitants were in bed.
What did Joe Tripod eat. Another case of an abused servant.

I think John is suggesting the Mars landing was actually filmed in Moab. I've heard these assertions before, like the moon landing was actually filmed in downtown Tulsa. Some are more plausible than others.
p.s. -- John, I don't think that's the hiking pack he went in with, which makes me curious what "lunch" was.

A suspicious person might think of an Alien connection here.
Someone completely at home in all these red rocks.
The planet Mars is covered in red rocks.
Someone who always hides his eyes behind reflective material.
Martians have strange eyes, easily recognisable.
Herbert George knew what was what.

You have a contented grin on your face after what was probably a lot of hard work! Beautiful spot.
