Lion Mountain is in northwestern Utah, five miles (eight km) south of Lucin. In this eastward view, Lucin and the summit of Lion Mountain are off to the left. Although this photo does not show it, the weather was not exactly co-operative.
But the weather made no difference to Joe Tripod, whose diligent support of my camera made this picture possible.
Larry, that deception will not get past me. Joe's siblings are everywhere---even in Michigan!
However, one does not even require a tripod for a self-portrait: one can shoot into mirrors and other reflective surfaces (such as UFOs and chrome-plated car bumpers), prop the camera on a level surface (but not during a magnetic anomaly), and pointing a camera at one's self while holding it at arm's length. All these techniques are facilitatetd by the use of a Valium filter on the lens for calming the subject.
