Although this picture does not show it, this is the narrowest part of the plateau,
about 100 feet (30m) wide. It is aptly named "The Neck." By the time a vehicle has
come this far, passengers have their noses pressed against the windows and drool
with abandon. Drivers cast ever-so-brief glances to the left or right but focus
on the road and its inconsequential "guard rail." The end of the road is just ahead.
