In 2004 I studied this slope in detail and thought I had determined that a scrambling route
existed. That inspection took place on a slightly overcast day with weak shadows. The route
would come from below, zigzag up the slope to upper right, make an easy traverse leftward
behind the detached tower at upper center, and continue to the grassy area at upper left.
But the view shown here, with bold shadows, forced me to accept a rude possibility: the tower
could be so close to the cliff behind it that passage between the two is impossible. A traverse
behind the tower was preferable because it would be on ground that was less steep and less exposed
than the ground in front of it. Even after studying this view with the binoculars I could not
determine if passage behind the tower was possible. Bummer. Additional views were in order.
