Ranger was Doug's traveling companion, and a fine one he was. Ranger had been in
the truck's cab. When I asked Doug if I could say hello to him, he warned me that
he is not the friendliest creature around strangers. Upon meeting me, Ranger didn't
growl or bare his teeth. He did, however, wag his tail a bit and give me a little
kiss on the face or hand. Maybe he sensed that I am "a dog person."
