Crusty boulder

Silver Island Scenic Byway, Utah

This lava-encrusted? tuff-encrusted? boulder by the road is similar to several I saw on
Peak 4944, a sub-peak of nearby Tetzlaff Peak ( http://www.pbase.com/listorama/image/48584299 ).

The bamboo stick is six feet (1.8m) long; white and (faint) black markings on it are one foot (30 cm) apart.
