What a dreary day it was---overcast, gray, windy, and cold! On my first visit to Floating Island (July, 2004) I took a cheerier photo of Gate 74. Note how the red lettering of the sign has faded in five years.
This portion of the UTTR's boundary fence runs north-south in a straight line for twelve miles (19km), according to Benchmark's "Utah Road and Recreation Atlas." The line of the fence is just barely visible (under the crosshairs) of this WikiMapia aerial view.
