Irrigation and Volkswagen

view map

While riding my trike down Murphy Road in Maricopa, I stopped to check out an irrigation canal and service road. I planned to use the service road on my return ride. The control gate was off duty, as the only water in the canal was this puddle.

About 250 feet (76 m) beyond this gate is Murphy Road and beyond that is Volkswagen's proving grounds, hidden behind a tall green hedge and beige wall. I wonder if that's where VW perfected the automobile software designed to fool emissions control testing facilities in the USA.

My vantage point was at the center of this Wikimapia aerial view.

Not many cars in the USA Dave, most of the dodgy cars are in the rest of the world.
A friend of has one, he tried to part exchange it for a new car.
The dealers do not want to buy it.
He has lost a lot of money, and it looks like VW is trying to get out of giving him decent compensation.
