The upper shot of my Subaru was taken in 2005, when the salt was dry enough to drive on (I drove on it). The lower shot, from 2011, represents disappointment because the seasonal lake on the salt flats meant that my planned hike on nearby mud flats could not take place.

Tetzlaff peak is named after Teddy Tetzlaff, an early
racing champion at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
