Location: Cisco, Utah. Movie: "Thelma and Louise" (1991)
This bleak desert scene by a railroad track appears in the movie just before Thelma and Louise talk to a bearded man on the porch of a run-down house (a scene that was probably filmed in Cisco). Out of view to the right is a railroad equipment shed.
The upper image is a photo of my TV screen while I watched "Thelma and Louise." The little structures are toilets. In front is a modern-day portable toilet. In back is an old wooden outhouse. That outhouse might have been a railroad facility at one time.
The lower photo shows what the place looked like on June 2, 2014. Only the outhouse is present (and had not been used for a long time).
At the time of filming the track was owned by the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. Today it is owned by the Union Pacific Railroad.
