This driver-side view shows the J-bolt connecting the rearmost 2x3 to a seat anchor in the floor. I routed a slot in the 2x3 to keep the bolt beneath the top of the 2x3 (so the bolt would not touch the plywood panel atop the 2x3). The connection was bomproof.
