Two Endemic Lifebirds at Subic

Fatbirder's Top 1000 Birding Websites

For several days now, a ridge of high-pressure area is prevailing over North Luzon, ushering in brilliant sunshine and blue skies. I took advantage of this respite from the rains, and checked out Subic rainforest for the nth time. I must have been a good creature in my previous life to be rewarded with so much excitement in a birding sortie. I bagged two endemic lifers (Philippine Hawk-Owl and Sooty Woodpecker) and got more detailed pics of the Red-Crested Malkoha, White-Bellied Woodpecker and a perched Philippine Serpent Eagle.
