The avian gods must have known that I had just cleaned my 20D sensor - they gifted this color-blind clicker with the rare opportunity of capturing in megapixels the uncommon, rarely seen and endemic Ashy Ground-Thrush (an immature one).

The bird strutted before me like a beauty queen candidate - as in quarter turn to the right, click... another quarter turn, click.... I got a lot of angles, though it's a pity that my flash had to supply most of the light - the pics have that unnatural flashed look.

I'm drinking my SanMig in glee as I upload these pics...8-)... Of course, I've been wrong many times before in establishing the ID of my bird pics. In case I terribly goofed on this one, please feel free to post your comments or correction. Cheers!

Idol! galing talaga ng panahon, we both have LIFERS for the day! I finally saw a Chinese Pond Heron just like the one in your pic, in flight din when I saw it. Nilo, Raul and I are at SRP and it was great! SRP is waiting for you too. Hope you can come back.
