Full-framing the Philippine Hawk-Owl

Fatbirder's Top 1000 Birding Websites

Thanks to a tip by Mike S. of the Philippine Raptor Center, I was able to see and capture in megapixels at Mt. Makiling this common but rarely photographed Philippine endemic owl.
It was perched about 35-40 feet high from the ground, under the canopy, in low light. My lens of choice for this type of low light shooting is my venerable Sigmonster -
great optics with framing flexibility - instead of my other workhorse, the 500 f4 IS.
