Southall is a vibrant, exotic, colourful and exciting suburb of West London, 12 miles from the city centre.

It was also my home for two years. I loved it - every moment of it. It was noisy - fantastic asian music blasting out everywhere, smelly - the scent of spices being cooked into glorious curries but above all charming!

I have been meaning to set up a Southall gallery for some time but these pictures don't really do it justice. It was a murky, dark, wet and wintery afternoon and almost impossible to get enough light to photograph anything - still there is always another day and for now, here are a few pictures of fantastic things that deserve a blue sky behind them!
