I had every intention of taking loads of photos of saris and sari fabrics hanging in the front windows of shops and at street vendors but unfortunately the light was just too poor.

I had to post this photo though because it demonstrates a big change in Southall since I lived there - it used to have a very 'run down' feel to the main shopping thoroughfair but no longer. Many of the sari shops are now very posh indeed - like this one. These gorgeous outfits are very expensive indeed as well as being extremely well made. Many of the shops here wouldn't look out of place on Bond Street these days.
