Just us and our babies a walkin in the woods

We got it right! We'd decided that on one day over the weekend, we'd take the dogs on a really long walk and so relied on the Met Office to tell us the best day for that. They were right, this morning saw a beautiful blue sky, sunshine and mist.

For hours we tramped around the woods - lost tennis ball tally, 2, muddy dog tally, 2, tired humans tally, 2, photo tally - about 60 between us. In fact, this is almost the worst, I'm going to post some others in another gallery later but I wanted this FEEL for my photo diary. Deserted path, sunshine and the dogs in their usual position of Rosie (little black cutie) ambushing Archie (big macho chap).

It's been a really good day aside from setting off to go to see James Brown this evening - he's in the UK to record a TOTP2 special tonight - and because of engineering works on the railways and more torrential rain we had to turn round and come home.

Sorry to let you down Shazbop - I know it's twice in a week with the Stuffies too!

POSTSCRIPT: I am very grateful to Nikki for her posting today. Thank you Nikki.

This is a very emotive and nicely composed shot. I can almost smell the forest and hear the dogs while sitting here in my office.

I haven't seen James Brown in concert since about 1970 - about the same time I saw Wilson Pickett and Aretha Franklin. :) Saw them in Nurnberg, Germany.

Looks like fun was had by all. 60 shots, eh? Hopefully the law of averages will result in 5 or 6 you really like..

This really is a great shot, the light coming in from the trees is wonderful!

Thanks to you, too. It's strange, Pat and I almost ended up going to these woods, today. It's such a great place to go to take in the world.

I dont understand how you could call this the "worst". Just look at the mist through the sunrays, the moisture from the ground. James Brown! Whooo hoooo, would love to see him in concert.
