I am struck by the architecture. Did the architect deliberately create strong square lines and shapes near the building, gradually changing to soft curves at the shoreline to represent architecture vs nature, or is the design purely symmetrical - i.e. You have done what I just mentioned through your talent for composition? I suspect the latter!

Very good composition with a mix of textures and shapes.
I like it very much!

The space to think ~ or is it that we don't talk anymore?

Very interesting shapes and lines Ai Li, broken by the scattered figures.

This is a real masterpiece. The use of negative space and the isolation of subjects...the triangular play between... That silvery light too...it's beautiful but so cold. Absolutely excellent. Phil says it way better than I can.

Fantastic composition!

Again, this is excellent for its graphic qualities alone...Furthermore, I completely agree with what Phil says here. You're a graphical master.
Phil Douglis29-Sep-2007 05:56
You have a highly developed graphic sense, which greatly intensifies your ability to express yourself with a camera, Ai Li. This is a perfect example of it. Not only have you found a vantage point that abstracts the image by removing all of the clutter of distracting surroundings, but you organize what is left in the frame as vast geometric spaces that create scale incongruity and symbolically isolate the three pairs of people from each other. All of this is the work of man -- there is no hint of the natural world here at all. You seem to be saying that the more imposing our public spaces become, the more alienation we create.
