The LEOPARD TORTOISE (Geochelone pardalis) is one of the so called 'Small Five' the other members of this group are:
RHINOCEROS BEETLE, ANT LION, BUFFALO WEAVER and ELEPHANT SHREW
The LEOPARD TORTOISE is not renowned for its hunting ability, unlike its namesake. It has beautiful spots on its shell and can be seen throughout Africa as far north as Sudan and Ethiopia.
