Spicebush Swallowtails occur throughout the easter US. They are multi-brooded,
flying in spring, summer, and fall. Males (and occasionally females) gather
in groups with other butterflies to sip nutrients from damp areas. Habitat is
diverse. Both sexes nectar at a variety of flowers. The proboscis is
exceptionally long, allowing Spicebush Swallowtails to obtain nectar from
long-tubed flowers generally associated with hummingbirds.
