This beetle is a patent-leather beetle all right, just one with strange colors.

Do patent leather beetles have stripes on their abdomens? I found a black beetle in my yard that was close to 2" long and the patent leather is the only beetle in my book that comes close to what I found. But none of the pictures I've seen show the abdomen. Thanks.
