these lillies used to grow across the road from my house on a hill above a medium sized creek. the hill was scooped out and the topsoil sold off, htus destroying the lillies. fortunately one began to grow in my backyard in the 1970's and has been coming back every spring since. i have collected the seeds and will continue to do so until i feel i have enough for a planting. once i do i'll take a soil reading of the ground where the lilly grows. it's puzzling to me because i only saw atamascos in the woods under dim light and mine grows in the full sun for half a day.
