This hike was the only real "bust" of all the hikes we went on. The trail had a LOT of steep hills, going down and up. We had only planned two long hikes this whole day but didn't get to the first one until mid-afternoon and didn't start on this one until 6:00 p.m. and we were already pooped from the first hike. So, after hiking for about an hour and getting to yet another steep descent (with my knees killing me already), I decided we'd call it quits and head back out, without ever even seeing the first of the "five lakes". They were supposedly small and each had a very different (bright) color to them.
