One of the things our family did in the past when we lived in Temecula, was drive over to Rancho Cuyamaca State Park to climb around on "the boulder's" and "hike up Stonewall Mountain". When the day came to do that activity during this vacation, everyone besides me decided other things sounded more enjoyable at our resort. However, I wasn't to be deterred and went off and accomplished making it to the top of the mountain single-handedly! Hindsight showed me that it was my "lucky day"!!! The mountain scenery was BEAUTIFUL in springtime, even though the previous forest as we knew it from before had been badly burned in 2002, 2003 and 2007. I only saw 2 groups of hiker's during the not-quite 4 hours that I was on that mountain trail, so it was almost as if I had God's beautiful nature around me with no one else to distract me from being in awe of it, hence the many, many photos, (and I even deleted some that I took)!!! Yes, I was tired after hiking up 2 miles to the very top while climing 1,800 feet higher, and then back down again. The hour-long drive (each way) was beautiful and Dave was so gracious when he saw me walk in our resort apt, taking one look at me and deciding that HE would do the cooking that night! I think I was in bed for the night by 8:00 p.m.
