That little white spot near the center of the picture was actually a tiny glacier (frozen river), as it was blue in color and very solid-looking; unlike the "snow" on the rest of the mountain. When I was researching tourism in Alaska, I read one place that they have around 10,000 glaciers in their state. I couldn't fathom that amount, but back then I was thinking each one were the huge kinds. Instead I'm betting that the majority are kinds like these, in the mountains and not all that big.
