As Dave and I were hiking to where our car was parked, all of a sudden this small herd of buffalo came meandering on our same trail, coming straight at us! We quickly decided that it would be safer for us NOT to play "chicken" with them, so we hiked up to a higher trail that still paralleled the river. We got up to it and then stood, VERY quietly while they very slowly meandered along. I did NOT use zoom when I took this photo.
