There's a darker chunk of snow just above the center of this photo, way behind me. From where I am now to just beneath that chunk was about HALF of what I'd already hiked (mostly alone) to get to this point. My hike had actually started in the valley that went around that mountain right behind me, going way to the right as much as what you see from me to that valley right now (so I'd hiked twice the distance you see from me to that lowest white patch of snow.
