A vehicle we were following pulled to the side for what we thought was no apparent reason. As we passed the vehicle, we noticed what they were looking at, so then we stopped as well. Cade's Cove is known for abundant wildlife but we saw very little during our drive around it. White-tailed deer, black bear, raccoon, skunk, woodchuck, and squirrels are supposed to be in abundance in the area. Before coming on this vacation, I researched this park and saw so many other people galleries and comments about how MUCH wildlife they saw in Cade's Cove. I guess the day we went in May was a "sleep-in" day for the wildlife. I think we only saw a total of 2 deer and a few birds.
