After driving by NTC, we headed up, along the top of the pennisula where Cabrillo National Monument and the Lighthouse are locoated at the end of. I saw this "purple tree" on the way and had to get a picture. I really don't remember EVER seeing these beautiful purple trees during the 18 years I lived in Southern California, yet we saw them everywhere around the greater S.D. area during this vacation. The rest of my family can attest that you're only seeing a FRACTION of the many, many pictures I took of "purple trees" during our week there, but I thought this was the prettiest picture of them so it got to stay and the rest felt the "delete" button. I found out since returning that it is a Jackaranda Tree. :)
