Along the top ridge of the pennisula there is a LOT of acreage that makes up Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary. As you drive along the road (along the peak of the pennisula), sights of white headstones are seen on both your right and left, with ocean/(bay) down below. Unfortunately, this particular morning, the sky was very overcast and dreary-looking. Had you seen these same photos taken on a beautiful day, it would have been nothing short of breathtaking! Oh, the MANY lives that have been lost, trying to keep our country free!!!! God Bless all the families who have lost a loved one in the defense of our country!!! :-(
