paint the moon red

my backyard

Not terribly creative like I wanted to be but I like it. I enjoyed sharing the eclipse with Trenity, who was more than happy to go back to bed for a bit! I hope she always remembers her first lunar eclipse, and I'm happy we shared it together. She was my "timer" telling me when each 5 mins was up to take another photo.

Nikon D200 ,80-200mm w/ 2x tc

what further creation is needed? We had a similar in March 07, but I hadn't a clue on photographing it then

I love this idea, I've seen a lunar eclipse with the red moon but never knew you could capture it like this. If you took this with the D200, doesnt it have the feature to take timed shots every min, hour, or whatever?
I think my D300 does but didn't learn that part yet :))

Really nice job, Laryl! I used the same setup, sans the 2x tc. The extra size makes a world of difference.
