Also my wife's birthday, we woke up with it having rained so much that the gravel road was impassable. We were stuck inside, and on a day when KSG was ready to head on to fish elsewhere and I for one was of a mind to adventure around vs being stuck. Worse, as I had not stocked up on food the night before, we had next to nothing to eat at all.
Fortunately around noon KSG managed to wiggle his way out and offered to take me to town to get food, so I did. (It was nice having some time alone with him anyway.) I got some quick food from Subway's but also a few light groceries from Harp's so if by chance we became stuck again we'd not be ill prepared this time. We got some shots of Kevin on the grounds before he left. Not long after, we managed to get out ourselves as well as the rain tapered off and the water levels receded, and we re-visited Shine Eye, Tyler Bend, the Bear Creek and also nearby Collier Homestead, a hiking spot we'd been to back in (I believe) 2017. After, in honor of my wife's 46th birthday, we went to Red River Cafe, an eatery in-between the cabin & Archey Fork, which we found out about "on the fly" in June (and which Kevin had been to himself, and discovered a small rope-swing swimming hole in an area behind it).
