Nature's palette

Ottawa East

Perhaps not a super vivid colour, but colourful anyway. Two Primrose moths in an Evening Primrose flower, the flower they use almost exclusively, hence their common name.

To see others colour bombing the month: https://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=49087&p=387664&sid=a2db398c76397d0fa5dab2da7a840697#p387664

I love this! I don't think they are romancing each other sharing the drop of nectar down in the flower. Have not seen these on our Evening Primroses but I wish we did. We get visits from a variety moths and other pollinators. BV

The moths could be part of the flower, as I first thought they were. However, given their specialisation, the colour contrast and thus lack of camouflage is surprising.

Wow, I didn't see the moths until I read your commentary! What a great shot
