Eyed paectes moth (Paectes oculatrix), #8957

Reveler Conservation Area

Summer means mothing season... and when it is hot and humid it is good for moths, so I have been out several times to the conservation area at night to look for moths and hundreds and hundreds have been attracted to the lights, including this small Noctuid which I was very happy to see.

PS: Thanks for the idea of going out at night and using a light to attract them.

Beautiful job of photographing it showing its nearly perfect, but still well defined in this case, camouflage. ~BV~

Nice one Christine. I only see them on the moth sheet, not in a natural setting like this.
