One of the colourful and intriguing Derbidae planthoppers, whose distribution is apparently, largely tropical. We have a handful up this way. I have discovered that this one and the even more beautiful Apache degeerii, often seem to hang out on the underside of leaves, but can sometimes be surprisingly cooperative, putting up with a lot of leaf jostling (as I try to get the right shot) before flying off. But sometimes, as was the case here, I get one or two shots and they're outta there!
