Treehopper (Enchenopa sp.)

Reveler Conservation Area

The treehopper was found in a nannyberry shrub (Viburnum lentago). The white sticky things on the left are secretions from the treehopper to cover and protect the eggs which she deposited in the stem. It is easy to see how these treehoppers could be mistaken for thorns on a branch.
