Praying mantis egg case

Looking like a cross between a wholewheat loaf and a honeycomb, this is the small egg case of a praying mantis. It looks like it has been opened by predators. Many birds and animals will snack on this.

Love the shape, cells and texture. Too bad these won't hatch but it makes for a great image. V.
