Predatory Stinkbug with mites

This is in the subfamily Asopinae, and is either in the Genus Apateticus or Podisus (spined soldier bug). Notice the red mites on this stinkbug. Predatory stinkbugs, as their name suggests, prey on other insects. Photographed in Larose Forest.

His armor is not the best defense against the not so mighty mite.

odd how even a predator also serves as a host...great clarity reveals it's pocky outer layer...V
