Grey squirrel

Having a snack in my backyard. Most of the squirrels in my garden are the melanistic (black) ones, which are by the more common colour variant up here. As mentioned before, speculation as to why the black colour form is more common here, focuses on the possibility of the darker colour allowing the animals to retain heat better in the winter.
