Hover fly (Blera)

Found in Larose Forest. I was not sure which species of hover fly this was, but thanks to Bug Guide I now know it is in the Genus Blera, and possibly B. confusa. It was a new one to me. According to the online Syrphids of Ontario, there are a few species in Ontario, most very rare, but two are uncommon, and this is likely one of those.

Sheer perfection -- image and its clarity. See them a lot in my garden in the summertime.
