Squirrels are busy gathering the bounty of nuts and fruits. Greys generally bury their food, one nut at a time. SOmetimes they store apples in the fork of a tree. Red squirrels, stockpile their food, creating huge caches on the ground of walnuts, conifer cones, etc. Different methods, but all aimed at getting them through the winter until spring.
