This pair was on a Garlic Mustard plant and were quite oblivious to me. Their resemblance to a wasp is quite remarkable. They even have long antennae (most flies have very short ones), but they don't have a stinger!
Ok, I'm dunb. I thought they were wasps and I've always avoided them. :) I learn so much from your nature photos and another excellent and detailed capture. V.
