Close up of caterpillar feet: Banded Tussock, #8203

Nortel woods area. Now is the time of year to be looking for a variety of caterpillars. This one, a Banded Tussock, was very, very active. It was intriguing to watch it making its way at a rapid pace by climbing from stem to stem of weeds and grass. The feet of caterpillars are quite amazing. Look at how they are made for clasping!
