A cluster of spiderlings, probably Garden cross orb weavers

I went out to my car the other morning and what should I find on the door, but a cluster of tiny, tiny, tiny spiders, obviously just hatched. Mum must have deposited them some short time before. You can see the web spread out across the car... this took up about less than 2 inches. I carefully moved the whole lot to some nearby vegetation and wished them well.

Superb! My first impression of this image was flower seeds in a spider net :-) Love it! V

Great shot, and a great narrative Christine! I hope the little fellas remember your kindness and keep you bug- and insect-free!! And a cracking close-up shot with the SX10 :o). Love Barri's story too...that's neat!

How good is that! Love it! I was not sure what it was until I enlarged the thumbnail - super photo. V.

Neat shot and story. I had a spider in a car once with a web on the antenna. When I'd drive, the spider would hide, and when I'd stop it would come out an inspect the web to see what it caught...and usually found something. It lived there a whole summer...these would be a few to many to live in a car :-)

Agreed, like tiny stars - yellow across the deep blue. Nice catch (and release.)

Wow, what a pic! Like stars in the night sky! :o) Good to know that You moved them safely to their real home.
