This is one of those images that has a lot to say about human relationships and interaction. By making it black and white you reduce clutter significantly, but the image is not structured to stress the line that has been drawn between the two worlds you are contrasting here. Try cropping it just above their heads and see how you like it. It will tend to pull the picture together and draw a firmer line between the man in front of the fence and the people behind it. Once you crop it, our eye will not wander all over the place as it does now.

Excellent shot, Lara. You have a good eye. The black and white is much more effective.

Mark, no. I went to visit my sister. She lives in Manchester, CT on the border with Mass. So we drove into NorthHampton, Massachusetts. Only 45 minutes from where she lives.

Nice find. I think the B&W works better. The colors in the background had a distracting way about them. So you're in Boston on business?

I like the B&W too.... Well captured..!
DeMorcan17-May-2004 02:18
The B&W is more dramatic and attention getting.

Oh yes, B&W is perfect for this!! Love the body language of the musician -- he looks so into his music and so unaware of his surroundings. Great shot, Lara!
