Workouk

I HATE EXERCISING. It's hard. How can people enjoy lifting weights??? Yuck... Crappy. Crappy. Crappy. I am so not made for a gym. But I have to do it. It's a commitment I made with myself to lose some weight to feel better about myself, my body, my mind. so I feel comfortable in summer clothes damn it.. It cant be this hard. Will it come a time when I will actually enjoy this????????? I lay down on the floor, put the camera near me and shoot away. I am tired. My muscles ache. I am too weak to even try to take a bath. As I shoot the first photo, Tenglo sticks her nose in my face to say hi. and that totally cheers me up. Check out her whiskers, they are huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge.

Lara, I just went for a job this morning. First time in, whew...almost a year. I think I died numerous times around Prospect Lake. A gaggle of geese are pecking at my body, for sure. Nice shot, best of luck with your routine. I'm gonna try to keep mine up. ~g

I love this angle, Lara . . . and you definitely look pooped! I agree that you are likely hitting everything at once & need to focus on one item at atime til you get used to it all . . THEN you can be Olympic Queen & do twelve things in the same visit.
Lose weight? You've got to be kidding . .what's fat, your toes?

A very moving self portrait. It is not only your exhaustion that speaks -- it is the low vantage point of the camera, which drags everyone right down there with you! Great image, Lara.

Don't worry Lara. It get's much easier when you are 40 something with 2 kids....easier to find reasons not to excercise anyway.
Keep it up!

yes I am left handed :) the watch gave it away. huh? Actually once a week is the weight lifting (wednesdays) with my trainer, we are trying to get together twice a week, but our schedules suck. so the rest of the week I am on my own. I do go to the gym but not really as much as I should and when I do venture into it (yoga class, treadmill, bike)
You're right, once a week ain't enough, we are trying to shoot for another day at the end of the week. Thanks Mark :)

And I'm the opposite of the three of you. Of course I haven't worked out since Christmas and it doesn't look like I'll find my way into a gym for a while, but when I get started, I get obsessed with it. I guess I actually like lifting weights and riding a bike as hard as I can.

It sounds like you need to take it a bit easier in your workout. But once a week isn't a good system. Sorry. :( You lose so much of what you gained the previous week that you are nearly at square one again. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. Walk as often as possible to your destinations. Find some exercises that you can do at home, between workouts and in only about 10-15 minutes.

Oh, this is a photography forum! You captured your feelings well! Good night and rest up. (I just noticed, you're left-handed aren't you?)

Jill and Jeanne,
Thanks for your support. You are both right. I have to find something I like and not obsess. then I will enjoy it and not think about it as "working out"

Lara..You may be making the same mistake I did when I first joined my gym..I would work cardiovascular after taking a class in stretching, then work out with weights..ALL of the machines reps of 10 to 20...never really consistent just until boredome set in..then go for laps in the pool....did this for about 3 weeks and found myself exhausted and sick. My chiropractor told me that I had weakened my immune system as a result of doing to much to soon....slow down. One day just work out with cardio, then another swim...

Drink lots of water too.

Lara, I totally understand. I don't think I've EVER exercised...on purpose! LOL! You have to find something you LOVE to do...I Love going for walks...and in San Francicco there are so many hills, I guess that may count....Maybe you could get really stressed out over something! That always knocks off about 15 for me in weeks!!!
