We have had cool, wet weather this week. Two afternoons ago I encountered a copperhead warming on the pavement near home. And today I crossed paths with a Canebreak rattler ( not the one shown here though ). I have limited experience with the Canebreaks ( today's image taken near my front porch )but each time they were well behaved and not aggressive at all. Their numbers in the southeast US are dwindling due to loss of habitat.
